What is the difference between a raw score and a scaled score?

Your raw score is a simple count: how many scored questions you got right. Your scaled score is that count converted to the 120 to 180 scale. The conversion, called equating, adjusts for difficulty so scores mean the same thing across different test forms. Schools use the scaled score.
