LSAT fee waiver prep course

If you have an LSAC fee waiver, LSATPathway gives you the full Self-Study program for $15 a month. It is called the Fee Waiver plan. You get the same study plan, the same questions, and the same practice tests as the $49 plan. The only differences are the price and a short application.

What the LSAC fee waiver is

The fee waiver comes from LSAC, the organization that runs the LSAT. It is for people who cannot afford the test fees. It is not a discount for people who would rather not pay. LSAC's standard is extreme financial need, and LSAC decides who qualifies. We do not.

If LSAC approves you, the waiver covers your LSAT registration fee and your Credential Assembly Service (CAS) registration, plus a set of law school reports. LSAC runs two tiers of support. Which tier you get depends on your income, measured against the federal poverty guidelines. You apply through your LSAC account and you prove your income with financial documents. Apply early. LSAC asks for fee waiver requests at least six weeks before your test date, and the review takes time.

Who this page is for

Three groups. Students who already hold an LSAC fee waiver and need prep they can afford. Students who think they qualify and have not applied yet. And students who will not qualify for LSAC's waiver but still cannot carry a $49 or $99 monthly plan. Keep reading. There is a path for each of you.

How the LSATPathway Fee Waiver plan works

  1. Apply on this site. Go to the fee waiver application and upload documentation of your financial need. An LSAC fee waiver approval letter is the cleanest document. A recent tax return, a benefits letter, or pay stubs also work. It is the same kind of documentation LSAC asks for.
  2. Get approved. We review the application. If it is approved, you can download an approval letter from the same page.
  3. Subscribe at $15 a month. Approval unlocks checkout for the Fee Waiver plan. From there it works like any other paid plan on the site.

What you get

The Fee Waiver plan is Self-Study access at a lower price. Nothing is cut out of it.

Tutoring is separate. It costs $70 an hour, you buy it only if you want it, and no plan on this site requires it. The program is built for self-study.

The honest price comparison

Self-Study is $49 a month. The Fee Waiver plan is $15 a month for the same access. Some competitors charge less on paper. 7Sage's fee waiver program is $1 a month. Ours costs more than that, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What the $15 buys here is the complete program, not a reduced tier of it: the full question bank, the study plan, timed sections, and full practice tests.

Every plan is month to month. Cancel anytime from your billing page. Paid plans carry a 15-day money-back guarantee.

If you do not have a waiver yet

Apply to LSAC first if you think you qualify. Their waiver pays for the test itself, which is worth far more than a prep discount. Do not wait for LSAC before you start studying. The free Starter plan costs nothing and needs no application: the baseline diagnostic, all 16 lessons, one timed LR section, and one full practice test. Start there, apply to LSAC, and move to the Fee Waiver plan when your paperwork is through. If LSAC says no, you can still apply to us with your own documentation of need.

Frequently asked questions

Does LSATPathway decide who gets an LSAC fee waiver?

No. LSAC decides that, through your LSAC account. We decide only who gets our Fee Waiver plan, based on the documentation you send us.

Do I need an approved LSAC waiver to apply for the Fee Waiver plan?

No. The application asks for documentation of financial need. An LSAC approval letter is one way to show it. A tax return, a benefits letter, or pay stubs work too.

Is the Fee Waiver plan a stripped-down version of Self-Study?

No. It is the same access as Self-Study: study plan, drills, timed sections, full practice tests, and the full curriculum. The price is the only difference.

Does the Fee Waiver plan count as a paid plan?

Yes. It is a paid plan at $15 a month. That matters for things like the $500 LSATPathway scholarship, which requires an active paid plan held for at least 30 days.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Plans are month to month. Cancel from your billing page and you keep access until the end of the billing period.
