Equating

Equating is LSAC’s method for adjusting scores across different test forms. Because no two forms are exactly equal in difficulty, each gets its own raw-to-scaled conversion table. It keeps a 165 meaning the same thing from one administration to the next.

Example

A harder form might award a 170 for one fewer correct answer than an easier form.
