Law school application timeline generator
Pick your target enrollment year and whether you are retaking the LSAT. You get a month-by-month checklist: test dates, prep, letters of rec, your personal statement, and application deadlines.
How this timeline is built
- The cycle: applications for a fall start open September 1 of the prior year. Most regular decision deadlines fall between February and April, and seat deposits are usually due in April.
- First-time test takers: the plan targets a June LSAT with August as a backup, and prep starting about six months earlier.
- Retakers: the plan targets a September or October LSAT, with lighter prep focused on your weak spots.
- Letters of rec: ask early. Recommenders need weeks, not days.
