Starting LSAT prep in April 2027
The summer-test ramp: April starters are usually aiming at a June or August test. You have enough time if you are honest about your hours. Count your real weekly hours, not your aspirational ones.
Your first four weeks
- Week 1: Diagnostic and a written plan: which test month, how many hours, what gets cut.
- Week 2: LR fundamentals at pace: two question types per week, drilled to stability.
- Week 3: RC structure drills. Most April starters under-invest in RC. Do not be most starters.
- Week 4: First full timed practice test at month end. Review every miss the same day.
How many hours
12 to 18 hours a week. A June test from an April start needs real hours. Hours are an estimate. The right number is the one you can repeat every week without burning out.
Pick a test date early
Do not study toward "someday." A fixed test date changes every decision: how fast you move, when you start timing, when you taper. See the LSAT test dates page for the current schedule, then count backward from your date. If your runway is short, use the countdown plans matched to your exact weeks left.
