Starting LSAT prep in September 2027

Fall application season: September starters are usually applying this cycle. That means the test is not the only deadline: applications, essays, and recommendations compete for the same hours. Protect study time like an appointment.

Your first four weeks

  1. Week 1: Diagnostic plus a calendar audit: where do the study hours actually come from?
  2. Week 2: LR fundamentals untimed. Accuracy is the only goal this month.
  3. Week 3: One RC passage set every other day. Fall reading stamina decays fast.
  4. Week 4: End of month: timed sections begin. Keep them short: one section, full review.

How many hours

8 to 12 hours a week. Fall is busy. Honest small hours beat imaginary big ones. Hours are an estimate. The right number is the one you can repeat every week without burning out.

Pick a test date early

Do not study toward "someday." A fixed test date changes every decision: how fast you move, when you start timing, when you taper. See the LSAT test dates page for the current schedule, then count backward from your date. If your runway is short, use the countdown plans matched to your exact weeks left.

Start with a baseline

The free diagnostic scores every question type and shows exactly where you are losing points. Take it in week one.
