What is percentile rank?

Your percentile rank tells you what percentage of recent test-takers scored below you.

LSAC computes it from a published table covering three recent testing years. For example, a 170 has recently landed around the 94th percentile.

A percentile describes the field, not your ability: it moves as the applicant pool moves.

Schools care about the score itself; the percentile just tells you where that score sits among recent test-takers.
