What is conditional statement?

A conditional statement is an if-then claim: if the sufficient condition holds, the necessary condition follows.

If A then B means A guarantees B. It does not mean B guarantees A.

Conditional statements are the engine of formal logic questions. Diagram them with an arrow from sufficient to necessary.
