What is assumption?

An assumption is an unstated claim the argument needs to be true.

Arguments rarely state everything they rely on. The assumption is the gap between what the premises prove and what the conclusion claims.

Finding the assumption is the core LR skill. Strengthen, weaken, flaw, and assumption questions all start there.
