What is contrapositive?

The contrapositive is the logically equivalent restatement of a conditional: if A then B becomes if not B then not A.

It is the only valid rearrangement. Reversing without negating, or negating without reversing, produces an invalid claim.

When a question gives you a conditional and a negated necessary condition, the contrapositive is usually the inference.
