What is premise?
A premise is a stated reason offered in support of a conclusion.
Premises are the building blocks: the argument asks you to accept them, then draws the conclusion from them.
On the LSAT, premises can be facts, opinions, or reported claims. What matters is the job they do, not whether they are true.
Related glossary entry: premise.
